A subdomain is similar to a sub-directory on your domain, except when you create a subdomain called “subdomain” for example, you can then use an address such as: “https://subdomain.stormerhost.com” where the subdomain is in front of the domain name in the address.

Further example- www.stormerhost.com is the main domain for StormerHost, and you are currently accessing this knowledge base article from our subdomain –  http://support.stormerhost.com.
